Pass Go. Collect $200. You win.

A week of beginnings and ends. Grandpa's birthday on 3/17. Resurrection of our Lord, who is the Christ (Amen) this sunday. And Grandma's funeral on Tuesday and Thursday. Holy week is over, and our hell week is beginning. I use that term loosely because, seriously, we've had a long time to process this. We're all in a better place. Grandma, Lucile Sawitzki, passed away on Dec. 8th. She was 86 years old. She gave me the money to buy my first guitar 6 years ago. I've never been the same since. I'll miss her.
This picture was taken two weeks before she passed. Please, spend time with your loved ones. I have no idea what kind of therapy I would be in if I didn't dedicate the time that created this picture. Check out my YouTube page for some videos I took that day.

So this week begins thusly: visitation in Southport on Monday, memorial at St. Peter's on Tuesday, fly to California on Wednesday, funeral in Santa Cruz on Thursday, drink heavily on Friday, fly home on Saturday, repent on Sunday. Busy busy busy.

Along with that, my Peace Corps lab results came in from my medical exam. All that's left is the HIV test that comes in this Wednesday. After that, I can submit all the medical results to D.C. and finally get my assignment. I'm leaving in August for Central Asia for business management Wanna come? I know you want to.

I gave my last class in 1st centuray Judaism today. I was teaching a series on the historical background of the Passion of Jesus so today, being the ultimate end of this passion, I finished with a discussion with the early church after his death. The whole thing, which took 5 weeks, was a huge success. People were suprised, enthralled, intrigued, enamored, fell ill, and were, overall, impressed with my teaching ability. I think I've found my calling. I could, quite literally, do this all day and not even blink an eye. Where I used to sink 13-20 hours into a single video game (ok several video games) in a single sitting, I now do that with biblical history.

Still looking for a job. I have a face-to-face interview tomorrow at 1:30pm. Wish me luck.

Grandpa's 90th

He may be old. He may sleep alot. He may even be confined to a wheelchair. But I will be DAMNED if that's going to keep him from getting around. Son of a bitch that man wore me out! One big piece of cake and TWO bowls of mint chocolate chip ice cream kept that man wired for hours. He spent the next two hours dragging me around the whole facility. I made sure to appologize to the lady after we barged into her room and woke her up unexpectedly. "Sorry Ms. Olivia. Glad you aren't naked. He had too much sugar. Kthxbai!" Happy Birthday Grandpa!

Joel left early to pick up Claire from the airport and brough her by for a bit. And apparently, grandpa wanted Joel's gum more than he did the cake.

Here's the cake mom got him from Apple Annie's.

More photos here.

Man, it's been a while since I posted. More later I promise!

Soooo busy....

Holy crap! I know it's been a while since my last post, but I can't even begin to tell you about the great things that have happened to me since then. So I'll give a quick overview of my current situation and post more later:

Got a part-time job working for CSLEPS at NC State. Very fun!

Doing home computer consultation for people at my local church.

Started a Lenton historical study at my church of Post-Exilic Judaism up to the death of Caligula around 36 BCE. I love it! One down four more to go!

Currenlty looking for more work. Drop me a line if you need any computer work done.

More later.
